Tunisia: political tensions likely to lead to increased security risks

The General Union of Tunisian Workers (UGTT) on 4 November announced that the dialogue between government and opposition had been suspended indefinitely after the various parties failed to meet a second deadline to appoint a new prime minister. The union, which had brokered the talks aimed at ending Tunisia's three-month-long crisis, did not give further details on when negotiations would resume or the conditions under which they would take place.
