Everything about the evening has been perfect: she was mesmerized by the elegance of the restaurant, the food was exquisite, the service exemplary. However, the waiter has now appeared to tell you – very politely – that your card has been declined. No matter, this can be resolved with one phone call, you say, calmly calling your bank. Except you can’t hear all the menu options and you can’t work out how to connect to an agent to resolve the issue. The night has gone to wrack and ruin!
