Department of Economic Development of Dubai (DED) has partnered with emaratech to launch DubaiStore, an e-commerce platform to facilitate SMEs to sell their products online providing consumers the ability to shop online with trust and confidence.
DubaiStore, a new UAE e-commerce marketplace platform created by Digital Economy Solutions (DES), seeks to support UAE-based SMEs to increase their share in the online marketplace.
DES is a joint venture between technology consulting company emaratech and the Department of Economic Development of Dubai.
The e-commerce platform facilitates the online sales of products offered by UAE-licenced home businesses, SMEs and large companies offering an exceptional experience for both sellers and shoppers in the UAE.
Abdallah Hassan Ahmed Hassan, the CEO of Digital Economy Solutions (DES), “Our objective is to offer a business model that increases a healthy competition in the market for the benefit of the e-commerce world while maintaining the best environment for safe and trusted shopping.”
DubaiStore expects more categories to be added in the future. Currently, the e-commerce platform allows customers to order electronics, beauty and fragrance, home and kitchen products, baby and kids products and other fashion accessories.
Moreover, DubaiStore, the first local online marketplace to focus on SMEs and home-based businesses, ensures that no counterfeit or fake products are sold on the platform as only UAE licenced businesses in Dubai are onboard.
The e-commerce platform helps merchants sell their products by offering them the necessary tools to easily onboard their products and manage their stores.
DuaiStore stated that the selling of products by merchants is done by allowing UAE licenced businesses to communicate directly with consumers, create their microsites, upload products, process orders, prepare collection and receive payments.
