Job Description

Manage money market desk to provide for internal funding with healthy spread of risk and at a reasonable cost. Generating income from arbitrage and placement business. Continuous relationship management with existing and new counterparties to diversify the funding & lending base and have access to the ample liquidity. Liaising with the internal departments for getting various approvals for enhancing Money Market business and develop new processes for treasury. Adhere to the regulatory and internal policy and risk requirements. Fulfil audit, reporting, queries clarification and other requirements from different departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Funding internal requirements to make sure they are optimally met on a continuous basis. 
  • Managing Cost of funding: Identify and prioritise to tap into cheaper deposits. Negotiate better rates for the deposits accepted. Making sure that the cost of funding is always reasonable in tandem with the market conditions.
  • Gap Management: Make provisions for the smooth funding of deposit maturities. Track and project the cash flows in liaison across all divisions in the company. Ensure that the cash flow gaps are plugged and there is no default. Manage company's financial liquidity and risk by measuring and rebalancing the composition, moderating risk characteristics and maturity pattern of its financial assets and liabilities.
  • Maintaining and Diversifying the funding base. 
  • Maintaining and diversifying the customer base. 
  • Arbitrage business: Deploy excess liquidity with the premium paying counterparties to generate an additional source of income for the Treasury.
  • Internal stakeholder management.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum experience of 7 years in a Treasury function within a Bank or an Investment Company.
  • Experience in Handling FX, Money Market and Capital Market Products.
  • Deep understanding of money market and foreign exchange business with the ability to spot arbitrage opportunities.
  • Proven experience and strong ties and relationships with banking and institutional counterparties in UAE and GCC with the ability to add new relationships.
  • Minimum Educational Qualification of Bachelor's Degree preferably with a MBA.
  • Excellent communication in English. Arabic would be preferred.
