Chivas the Venture 2017 finalists confirmed for Gulf's social enterprise competition

Four companies have been short-listed for The Venture 2017 Gulf Regional Final–NOW Money; Health Gate; Ilovemypocket and Charicycles.

The winner will represent the region at the global final in Los Angeles, in July 2017, and to compete for a share of a $1million prise fund, created to support the world’s most promising next generation of social enterprises, as well as receiving mentoring opportunities.

Each finalist will present themselves and their business, detailing how their company benefits society by solving a problem, followed by an intensive Q and A session with The Venture’s expert judging panel. They will be assessed across the following five criteria: market Ooportunity; social impact; scalability; business model and organisational strategy and on the skills, experience and commitment of team. The judging panel is comprised of Gaurav Sabharwal, Managing Director, Pernod Ricard Gulf; Yogesh Mehta, Managing Director, Petrochem Middle East; Soushiant Zanganehpour, Founder, Tribeca Impact Partners; Jeremy Lawrence, Editor in Chief, Esquire Middle East; and Charles Blaschke, Co-Founder, Taka Solutions and winner of The Venture 2016 Gulf Final.

“Having now entered its third year, The Venture in The Gulf is firmly establishing itself as the enterprise competition everyone wants to win. We are delighted with the level of interest expressed, the quality of entries secured and the shortlist that has been selected. The winner of the Gulf Final of The Venture will join 30 new social enterprises from around the world at a week-long entrepreneur’s training-camp at the Skoll Centre for Social Enterprise in March 2017, followed by the global final in Los Angeles in July. During these trips, the finalists will have the opportunity to be mentored by experts and, to pitch for a portion of the $1 million in funding to take their business to the next level.
