Visa Checkout reaches 20 million enrolled Consumers

Visa Inc. (NYSE:V) has announced that Visa Checkout has reached more than 20 million enrolled accounts.

Visa Checkout enables millions of consumers to pay in just a few clicks on any device around the web with some of the world’s top merchants.

“Reaching 20 million enrolled accounts is a huge achievement and further affirms Visa Checkout’s purpose of bringing the trust and security of your Visa card to the evolving digital world. We are looking to build on this global success by bringing Visa Checkout to additional markets in the region so more consumers can benefit from the frictionless payment experience this service brings while shopping online,” said Hadi Raad, Head of Emerging Products and Innovation, Central Europe, Middle East, & Africa, Visa.

Visa Checkout will also continue to expand to new markets in 2017 in Central Europe and the Middle East, including Kuwait, Qatar and Ukraine. They join United Arab Emirates, South Africa, United Kingdom United States (and territories), and 20 other markets that offer Visa Checkout.

Merchants who have recently adopted Visa Checkout to improve their online shopping experience to increase conversion rates with additional customers include Avis Budget, Cape Union Mart, Cobone, Cole Haan, FIFA, Marriot, Sprii and Tajawal. These new merchants join a growing list of 300,000 merchants, including Emirates Airlines, Reel Cinemas, Yuppie Chef and Best Buy among others.

“At Tajawal, we are focused on creating an amazing travel experience for our consumers. When it comes to the payment part of the user experience, both security and simplicity play a major role. The Visa Checkout integration introduced a very attractive additional and safe payment solution to our various platforms that our customers loved to adopt due to its simplicity,” said said Muhammad Chbib, CEO, Tajawal.

Given the growing rate of eCommerce and mCommerce, merchants and consumers are looking for ways to further simplify the checkout experience. Visa and Samsung recently announced a partnership that will allow Samsung Pay users who link their Samsung Pay account with a Visa Checkout account to shop seamlessly at the more than 300,000 merchants that accept Visa Checkout.

This partnership is made possible through Visa Checkout’s open platform and streamlined set of APIs, allowing both consumers and merchants to experience the benefits. Consumers with fingerprint authentication-enabled Samsung devices will be able to click the Visa Checkout/Samsung Pay co-branded button and touch the fingerprint sensor, without entering their username and password.
