Union National Bank ISO 27001 certificates renewed

Union National Bank (UNB) has been re-certified to ‘Information Security Management Systems’ (ISMS) Standard ISO 27001:2013 by LRQA.

The renewed ISO 27001 certificates were presented to UNB CEO Mohammad Nasr Abdeen by LRQA Technical Manager Andrezj Taczala at UNB HQ recently.

ISO 27001 is the de-facto global standard for Information Security Management System. It provides reasonable assurance to both internal and external stakeholders that information security risks are managed effectively. The certification applies to UNB’s four subsidiaries (Union Brokerage Company, Al Wifaq Properties, Al Wifaq Finance Company and Injaz Marketing Management Company).

We are very pleased to be re-certified to the ISO 27001:2013 ISMS standards which truly demonstrate UNB Group’s commitment to continual improvement and Business Excellence,” said Mohammad Nasr Abdeen, CEO, UNB.

Abdeen congratulated UNB Group members for their efforts and dedication in achieving yet another milestone. He emphasised on the need to maintain strict vigil in a challenging business environment and emanating threats from the cyber space to ensure security and integrity of data.

Abdeen added “Data Security is of paramount importance to us. In today’s electronic and digital age, where the world is getting more and more connected with a multitude of applications and users, confidentiality, integrity and availability of data are critical.”
