Value of shares traded on Tadawul falls 36.62 per cent in H1

The total value of shares traded on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) during the first half of 2017 reached SAR 436.19 billion ($116.32 billion), a decrease of 36.62 per cent over the same period last year.

The total number of shares traded reached 23.57 billion, compared to 36.72 billion traded during the first half 2016, a decrease of 35.82 per cent.

The total number of transactions executed during the first half of 2017 reached 11.13 million, compared to 16.04 million during the first half of 2016, a decrease of 30.60 per cent.

At the end of the first half of 2017, the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed at 7,425.72 points, an increase of 925.84 points over the same period in 2016. 

Total equity market capitalisation reached SAR 1,763.99 billion ($470.40 billion), an increase of 17.26% over the close of the same period in 2016.
