Commodities: gold steadies

Mihir Kapadia, CEO and Founder, Sun Global Investments, on the latest.

Gold steadied on Friday, after retreating from a more than six-week high hit in the previous session, with investors looking for cues on the health of the US economy from the Q2 GDP data due today.

A strong growth figure would provide the dollar much needed respite from weakness, and weaken gold.

A weaker than expected GDP figure on the other hand will boost the yellow metal.
