Markets: Asian equities affected by dollar weakness

Mihir Kapadia, CEO and Founder, Sun Global Investments

In overnight trading in Asia, equities have been affected by further dollar weakness but trading volume are low in holiday affected markets. Indices in China and Hong Kong are higher while those in India, Australia, Japan and Korea are lower.

In the latter case, the stronger Yen (edging towards 111.60 against the US dollar) has again affected exporters’ shares. There were declines in Taiwan and South Korea for the same reason.
