FAB announces Group CRO retirement and new appointment, plus new senior management

After a long and successful career, Abhijit Choudhury, Group Chief Risk Officer, has retired from the bank.

“We would like to thank Abhijit for his invaluable contribution to building a robust risk management capability at NBAD and setting up a strong function at FAB, and we wish him the best on his retirement,” the Bank stated in a press release on the ADX.

Arif Shaikh, currently Group Head of International and former Chief Risk Officer at FGB, has been appointed as Group Chief Risk Officer of FAB.

In line with the Group’s strategy to become a key player in digital banking and in providing market leading digital and smart services, FAB has also appointed Fadhel Al Ali as Group Chief Customer Experience and Digital Officer. Al Ali’s responsibilities include the development of a bank-wide digital strategy, and the organisational alignment of FAB’s digital services to enhance long-term customer experience.

Fadhel joins FAB with extensive experience in corporate governance and strategic commercial roles. Most recently, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, he was Citibank’s Head of UAE distribution.
