Correction and apology: Banker of the Year – Iraq

An editing oversight in the recent Banker Middle East Industry Awards 2018 Supplement indicated that Faisal Al Haimus is the CEO of Bank of Baghdad, when in fact he was previously the CEO of Bank of Baghdad, and is currently the President & Chairman of Trade Bank of Iraq. We apologise unreservedly to Mr Al Haimus for this error.

Faisal Al Haimus is the President & Chairman of Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI). He has led the bank in a rebranding exercise and is currently seeing through an expansion strategy for the bank. TBI has opened an office in Abu Dhabi, UAE, last November, and plans to open its next branch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this year.

Al Haimus was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Baghdad and prior to joining Bank of Baghdad, Al Haimus served as the Head of Wholesale Banking—Iraq for Standard Chartered Bank, playing a vital role in growing the Iraqi market as well as engaging with relevant stakeholders to establish the presence of Standard Chartered in Iraq.
