Turkey's Halkbank to open first digital branch in Serbia

 

Halkbank is set to open its first digital branch in Belgrade on 29 October 2018.

Turkish lender, Halkbank has announced that it is set to add a new branch to its network in Serbia where it already has a wide-range presence, according to local newswire, Anadolu.

The state-owned and second-largest bank in Turkey bought a 76.76 per cent stake in Serbia’s Cacanska Banka in May 2015.

Halkbank will provide credit cards and POS (point-of-service machines) later in December for its clients as well as for the international businesspeople operating in Serbia.

Kenan Bozkurt, CEO of the bank in Serbia, said that Halkbank widened its network throughout Serbia and grew more than 70 per cent in three years and has reached more than EUR 450 million ($515.86 million) in size of assets.
